Attractive military commission document on vellum, 15.5” x 19.25,” dated March 13, 1863, and signed at the conclusion by President Abraham Lincoln. The commander in chief appoints “Joseph A. Slipper” to “Assistant Adjutant General of Volunteers with the rank of captain.” Countersigned by Secretary of Defense William Stanton. In fine condition, with folds. Elaborately and tastefully matted and framed with a plaque and image of Lincoln to an overall size of 36” x 30.5.” Accompanied by a JSA LOA. A notably crisp and clean Lincoln document presenting a perfect full-name autograph example.
