ULTRA RARE original 11" x 17" tour poster for the January 15, 1984 show at the Union Jack Lounge in South River, NJ. Not yet signed to a major label, the boys in Metallica started to hit the road hard in 1983 and continued in stride in 1984. For as rowdy of a band that Metallica was at this time, this poster is in exceptionally fine condition and features superb signatures from the band with colorful inscriptions. Penned in an assortment of blue ink and black felt tip marker, the autographs showcased include James Hetfield (adding "Kill'em Fuckin All!), Lars Ulrich (who adds "Fight fire with fire exiting...sorry"), Kirk Hammett (who adds "No Fuckin' Remorse") and the late great Cliff Burton.

Of note for Metallica die-hards, after this show the band would have all of their equipment stolen out of their van, forcing them to cancel their next show and leaving the band in peril. In the days following this incident, James Hetfield would channel his hopelessness into his songwriting, and would used a borrowed guitar to pen "Fade to Black"--one of the band's greatest songs!

Metallica group signed tour posters from this formative era are near impossible to find--especially in this condition. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).

From The Steve Grad Autograph Collection.
