Sought-after “The Universe In A Nutshell” hardcover book, 8” x 10,” by Stephen Hawking, Bantam Press, 2001. The first page bears the black ink right thumb-print of Stephen Hawking as witnessed by his assistant Judith Croasdell, who notes beneath his mark that it’s from, “Stephen Hawking,” and adds “Director of Research Centre for Theoretical Cosmology, DAMTP, University of Cambridge, UK.” A stamp above the inscription reads, “Right Thumb-Print of S.W. Hawking Witnessed by Judith Croasdell.” In fine to very good condition. An exceptionally rare Hawking example—the first of its kind we’ve ever offered.
