This beautiful limited edition colorized photographic print picturing the iconic Lou Gehrig was made from an original negative of Charles M. Conlon, the preeminent baseball photographer from 1904 – 1942. This high quality print measures a massive 20 X 24. On the bottom margin of the print, it is numbered 191/975 and embossed with the trademark "Charles Conlon Collection." Conlon, while working for the "World Telegraph," "Baseball Magazine" and "The Sporting News" immortalized baseball's greatest players through his photography beginning with his very first subject, New York Giants pitching immortal Christy Mathewson. Conlon's 1910 photograph of Ty Cobb (Detroit Tigers) stealing third base against the New York Highlanders (later became the New York Yankees) is one of the most recognized photographs in sports history.
