Presented is a Ty Cobb signed Detroit Tigers 8 x 10-inch black and white posed action photo. The Hall of Fame centerfielder and manager has signed his name in bold black fountain pen in the lower right of the photo and inscribed “From Ty Cobb to Cy Jones Friendship”. The photo depicts Cobb swinging a baseball bat wearing a Detroit Tigers uniform and cap against a background of trees. Cobb spent 22 seasons with the Tigers (1905-1926), the last six as the team's player-manager, and finished his career with the Philadelphia Athletics (1927-1928). In 1936 Cobb received the most votes of any player on the inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame ballot, receiving 222 out of a possible 226 votes (98.2 percent). Cobb is widely credited with setting 90 Major League Baseball records during his career. His combined total of 4,065 runs scored and runs batted in (after adjusting for home runs) is still the highest ever produced by any major league player.
