Handwritten letter signed “George & Ollie,” one page, 8.25" x 11.5", Dark Horse Records letterhead, August 29, 1976. Fantastic handwritten letter to "Gary Tina," which would be fellow musician Gary Wright and his wife Tina. The letter reads, in full: "You are never far from here! Om Guru Om! Have a nice day squire's—love you." He adds a cryptic handwritten postscript: "C.U. in L.A. (Videl Sassoon)," possibly referring to the fact that they got their hair done at the famed Vidal Sassoon salon in Los Angeles. Harrison also sketches several devotional symbols at the top, including an Om, cross, star, and Hindu swastika. Affixed at the bottom is an original candid photograph of an American flag flying over Harrison's famous Friar Park castle as an ode to the Wrights, who were Americans.
Gary Wright, best known for his hit song "Dream Weaver", was a close personal friend of Harrison's and had recorded with him numerous times including providing piano work on "All Things Must Pass". Harrison was also featured on several of Wright's recordings through the years.
In very good to fine condition, with light creasing and intersecting folds. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
