One Of The Finest "Pete Best Era" Signed Beatles Items in Existence!

Once upon a time, The Beatles were known as John, Paul, George and...Pete! For the first 2 years of the band's inception, Pete Best served as the man on the drums and was a fan favorite amongst the local Liverpool fans. Pete held down the drumming position until the band was literally on the cusp of stardom. Then, one fateful day August day in 1962 (August 16th to be exact), Pete was summoned to the office of Brian Epstein. After some debate, John, Paul and George had decided to make one final significant change. Pete was out at drums, and an enthusiastic lad by the name of Ringo Starr was in. And alas, the stars aligned and the legendary quartest of John, Paul, George and Ringo were formed!

Honoring the initial variation of "The Fab Four" presented here is an original 3.5" x 5.5" promotional photocard showcasing one of the earliest images of The Beatles in suits. Prior promo photos had showcased them in leather jackets with a more "edgy" look. But when Brian Epstein was recruited to be their manager, his vision of the band would be more refined, and in turn a more clean-cut, heart throb style that defined the early Beatles was created.

The showcased photocard showcases a great image of the band on the front, and the reverse features an exceptional set of blue ballpoint pen autographs, "all the best from John Lennon," "Lots of luck from Paul McCartney," "frae [from] George Harrison," and, "Regards from Pete Best." As noted by Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, these exquisite signatures are made even further desirable by the fact that they are not inscribed to a particular person--a tremendous rarity for Pete Best era group signed items!

The photocard exhibits some creasing impressions on the front and light toning on the back, none of which detracts from the photo's superb overall appearance. Fully authenticated, encapsulated and accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentications Services (BAS) as well as Letters of Authenticity from Beatles autograph authority Frank Caiazzo and music memorabilia authority Wayne Johnson/Rockaway Records.
