Prior to his historic coaching career, Tom Landry served as a 15 year player for the New York Giants as a defensive back/corner. During his long career, he only saw one nomination to the Pro Bowl which came during his final season with the club, the 1954-55 campaign. As a one time Pro Bowler, conceivably this next offering is the only Pro Bowl checks ever issued to the legendary Dallas head coach. This 1955 Pro Bowl player check issued from the founders of the game, Los Angeles Newspaper Publishers Association Football Charity Fund, to legendary coach Tom Landry for the sum of $44. Signed/endorsed on the reverse by Tom Landry who cashed the check on the 19th of January.
