In 1988, the eleven living members of baseball's "500 Home Run Club" were assembled (on canvas, anyway) by renowned artist Ron Lewis. Offered here is a limited edition print of Lewis' longball composition—signed by each of its fence-clearing subjects. Featured along the lower white margin are signatures of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Reggie Jackson, Harmon Killebrew (inscribed "573"), Mickey Mantle, Eddie Mathews, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Frank Robinson, Mike Schmidt and Ted Williams. The autographs were penned in blue Sharpie rating "10" in strength. (Williams is a "9".) Lewis also signed the piece in blue Sharpie, and noted at lower right is the piece's limited-edition number of "784/1000." Unlike the later issues, this example does not feature the "500 Home Run Hitters" caption at the top. Dimensions are 24" x 38-1/4" and condition is Near Mint with some minor handling wear along the edges. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from JSA.
