A college basketball legend, “Pistol Pete” is still the all-time leading NCAA Division I scorer with 3,667 points scored and an average of 44.2 points per game. He took his incredible talent to the NBA where he was a 5 time All-Star and averaged 24.2 points per game during his career. His numbers could have been greater if not for injuries that forced him to retire prematurely in 1980. One of the youngest players ever inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame, Maravich was cited by the Hall as "perhaps the greatest creative offensive talent in history". Maravich died suddenly at age 40 during a pick-up game of basketball in 1988. Offered here is a stunning 4" x 6" glossy playing image of Pistol Pete taking his well known fade away. Signed in near-mint bold black felt tip marker. Signed glossy playing images such as this are seldom seen as nearly every signed photo by Maravich was for promotion, this active playing image serves as one of the only known to ever surface. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
