Partly-printed DS as President, one page, 16" x 19.5", September 29, 1903. President Roosevelt appoints Dudley N. Carpenter to the position of "Surgeon in the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.” Signed at the conclusion by Roosevelt and countersigned by the acting Secretary of the Navy. The blue seal is still mostly intact and attached. The vellum document has some yellow staining and wrinkling but is in overall good condition. An attractive and ornate document that display beautifully! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
