To this day many baseball historians would credit Lou Gehrig with the best hitting season of all time. Always overshadowed by Babe Ruth, Gehrig would remain out of the limelight as much as possible. While the Babe would sign for almost any willing fan, Gehrig would walk by the many request just trying to move on with his day. For that reason among others, single signed Lou Gehrig baseballs are even more rare than dual signed Ruth Gehrig balls & certainly more scarce than the seldom seen Ruth single. Offered here is an ULTRA-RARE signed & inscribed official Wester League baseball on the side panel by Gehrig in strong blue ballpoint with a personalization & inscription. Gehrig signature examples have always commanded a premium in the hobby due to his legendary stature and the fact he passed away prematurely in 1941 at the age of thirty-nine. Overall in fine condition with minor scuffing. Authenticated by PSA/DNA with a full letter of authenticity.
