Offered here is an 8" x 10" black and white of the famous "V-J Day in Times Square" photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt on August 14, 1945 (V-J Day or Victory over Japan Day). The photo has been signed and inscribed by the Navy sailor in the photo, George Mendonca: "Times Square V.J. Day 8/14/45 U.S.S. The Sullivans 1942-1946 George Mendonca QM 1/C" and is also signed by the nurse, Greta Friedman, who writes, "Times Square, V.J. Day, Best wishes, Greta."
