From 1789 to 1797 a former solider would take a new position in politics, the job as President of The United States of America. Washington would do so well at the new position that Washington would resign on his own will rather than be taken out of office. 1795 would be one of his most important in office, avoiding war with Great Britain, he guaranteed a decade of peace and profitable trade by securing the Jay Treaty. The Jay Treaty would serve as one of the building blocks of the now strong relationship between Great Britain & America. Despite securing the country peace & prosperity with arguably the number one power at the time, Washington would also have personal business to tend to which leads us to this tremendous hand written offering descending from Philadelphia on June 27th, 1795. This Presidential-Era one page 7.5" x 9" hand written letter by Washington to John Cannon regarding final payments over land surveys in Pennsylvania. Washington would become a land survey in his teens, riding horse back developing a keen sense of the terrain, something that would come in handy during the Revolutionary War. Overall this Presidential Letter remains in fine condition with expected folds, creasing, and minor dampness to the right side, otherwise fine. A tremendous investment grade Presidential-Era hand written letter regarding Washington's modest past! Authenticated by Beckett/BAS with a full letter of authenticity.
George Washington Signed & Handwritten 7.5" x 9" Letter As President! (Beckett)
