This rare check is the first we have ever seen payable from Johnny to June Carter Cash. The check, drawn from the account of The Johnny Cash Show, is dated May 17, 1982 for the amount of $114.71. Cash signed the check twice with his full name "John R. Cash", once on the front (paying to his wife) and once on the back (presumably endorsing the check for their joint account). June Carter also endorsed below Johnny Cash on the back. The check is not written in the hand of either Johnny or June Carter Cash, but that does not detract from the rarity of this item. The check is in great condition, with a clean front side. The reverse side does contain normal deposit and cancellation stamps. A great insight into and reminder of the business side of Johnny and June's relationship!
