This offering includes an envelope with address written by General George Custer. Sent to his wife, Elizabeth, it is addressed simply to, "Mrs Genl Custer, Monroe Mich". The postmark is dated March 28, 1866. Two cancelled three-cent stamps remain intact. The envelope has general handling wear and some tears due to being mailed and opened, but is overall in fine condition. Though he is best remembered for his final battle at Little Bighorn, he was a well respected officer during the Civil War. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
