Apollo 1, the first manned mission of the United States Apollo program, never made its target launch date of February 21, 1967. A cabin fire during a launch rehearsal test on January 27 at Cape Kennedy Air Force Station Launch Complex 34 killed all three crew members—Command Pilot Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Senior Pilot Ed White, and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee—and destroyed the Command Module. Offered here is an 8" x 10" black & white photograph featuring all of the scientists involved in the mission. The photo, taken just days prior to the test accident, features the signatures of all three crew members in black felt tip marker - Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee. Considering the untimely death of the crew prior to even the official launch of the mission, this is an incredibly rare and desirable combination of signatures! In fine condition with some handling wear and signs of staining to the bottom left corner. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
