Presented here for your bidding pleasure is an exquisite set of 1962 Beatles autographs signed on a rare First Issue Beatles Parlophone promotional photocard! In October of 1962, when The Beatles released their first single "Love Me Do", their new record company, Parlophone Records produced a small quantity of promotional photocards in two formats - a horizontal and a vertical, both with pictures being shot by legendary photographer Dezo Hoffman while The Beatles were in the studio. Almost all Parlaphone cards were signed on the reverse, because there was very little light area on the front of the cards for their signatures. The Beatles signed this “vertical” format photocard on the reverse side in a ballpoint pen ink. The photocard measures approx. 3.5” wide by 5.5” tall. Aside from a minor spot along the top border on the front side and a couple trivial surface impressions this piece stands in exceptionally fine condition. The signatures are nothing short of impeccable! George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have each signed perfectly spaced out from each other, with research pinning a timeframe of late 1962 to very early 1963 on when the Fab Four signed this image. Love Me Do reached Number 17 on the UK Single Charts and was quite an accomplishment for the band at that time. Little did they know then that their next single, Please Please Me, would hit Number 1 on February 22, 1963 as would all subsequent single records, and the rest as they say, is history. Undoubtedly one of the finest Parlaphone cards to ever surface in the marketplace! Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett/BAS.
