At the tender age of 46 Jack Nicklaus stepped onto the hallowed ground of Augusta National Golf Course as an extreme underdog with essentially one hip. To help promote the Golden Bear, MacGregor would feature a 25th Anniversary line commemorating Nicklaus's 25 years on the PGA tour, a seldom achieved feat. With his Response ZT 615 putter in hand (which he would lose following the victory), Nicklaus would struggle through the first two rounds with a combined score of 145 strokes. Barely making the cut, Nicklaus would prove to be a weekend warrior, saving his best for last and surprising the entire field. Even during the final round of TV coverage, Nicklaus didn't warrant much attention until the back 9, where in the video below the Bear can be seen in live action walking Augusta National all the way to the winners platform. Nicklaus would throw on the Green Jacket for his 6th and final time in magical fashion at this Masters. He is still to this day the oldest golfer to take a Major title.

These white trim size 9.5 golf cleats featuring the time dating 25th Anniversary stamp on each heel, with extreme wear from multiple golf rounds, helped the Golden Bear on that mystical tournament in April. Due to light exposure & poor camera quality of the time period, the key identifiers can only be seen while the Bear looms in the shade during the video of the tournament. The best photo-match can be seen below of Nicklaus emptying his right cleat of water after having to wade through the lake. In this photo, a dark scuff can be seen on the shoe in Nicklaus' hand, which can be matched to the right cleat in this offering. A course assistant has penned in each shoe, "Jack, 92" with the 92 referencing the 9 1/2 size. Each cleat has been signed by Nicklaus in vintage black felt tip marker, leading one to believe these tremendous cleats were offered as a gift, potentially after soaking them for the day following a poor shot. With the amount of wear to the heel, photo-match & video style matches this offering cannot be overlooked. Overall in excellent condition with tremendous wear suggesting multiple round use, including pre/post Master use most likely. Authenticated by PSA/DNA with a full letter of Authenticity.
