The Sex Pistols initiated the punk movement in the United Kingdom and are known as one of the most influential acts in the history of popular music. With public appearances that often ended in mayhem, the band provoked controversies that garnered a significant amount of publicity. Subjects addressed in their frequently obscene lyrics included consumerism, abortion, violence, apathy, anarchy, and fascism. When they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, the four surviving memories refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum "a piss stain". Their most famous lineup - that of Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook - lasted only a year before Rotten left and spurned a break-up. Just over a year after that, Sid Vicious died of a heroin overdose, and any hopes of the four rebels (with many causes) reuniting were dashed. Between the tumultuous nature of his personality and his early death, it is no surprise that autographs from the notorious Sid Vicious are extraordinarily rare. Offered here is one such piece, cut signed by Vicious in pencil, measuring to an approximate size of 2" x 3". Well-preserved and in overall good condition. Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
