Best known by his stage name Captain Beefheart, Don Van Vliet may have been a multi-talented artist across the visual and performance spectrum, but he was a tough signer. When his signature his obtained, most are personalized or signed on the reverse of albums. Offered here is a rare near-mint 8" x 10" Warner Brothers promotional photograph for Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, signed by Van Vliet in black felt tip marker with the inscription "Love over gold" and the year "78". "Love over gold" was a common saying for the artist throughout his life. In good condition.
