Brief letter of routine content, dated March 23, 1891 (during Cleveland's four year break between Presidential terms), penned entirely in Cleveland's hand and signed by the former president in a rich black ink. Cleveland writes to a Thomas W. Knox to politely decline an invitation to drive to meet Henry M. Stanley on April 11th. Letter measures approximately 4.5" x 7" and is fine overall. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
