This 15.5" x 19.5" vellum document was signed on March 26, 1869 by Ulysses S. Grant as President and Adolph E. Bolie as Secretary of the Navy. The document appoints Albert G. Caldwell as "Lieutenant Commander in the Navy". Dark blue embossed seal affixed to lower portion shows some paper loss. In overall good condition with one vertical and one horizontal crease. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
