Ultra-rare free frank from a young John F. Kennedy, postmarked October 16, 1944. With both address and return address written completely in Kennedy's hand, the envelope dates to the time period that Lt. Kennedy was hospitalized due to several dangerous missions which repeatedly exacerbated a chronically injured back ("Lt. J. F. Kennedy, U.S. Navy Hosp., Chelsea-Mass."). It is almost unobtainable to find anything from Kennedy relating to the end of his military career and his time at the Naval Hospital. Marked "Free" in the upper right hand corner next to the postmark. Overall in fine condition, this is a wonderful relic from Kennedy's heroic military career, prior to his prolific political career. Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
