Fittingly born a Leo in New York City, Bert Lahr to this day is best remembered for his role as the Cowardly Lion in the classic 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. He later remarked, ‘After ‘The Wizard of Oz’ I was typecast as a lion, and there aren't all that many parts for lions.’ Offered here is a vintage glossy 8" x 10" photo of Lahr, signed in silver ink, “To 'Wendel' and 'Emylie', With kindest regards, Sincerely, Bert Lahr” in near-mint fashion.
