Presented is a truly remarkable photo of one of Hollywood's most beloved comedy teams, Laurel and Hardy. The image features the legendary duo in character and is signed by both comedians in black fountain pen, with Laurel adding the inscription "Sincerest Good Wishes Dudley!". The photo is circa early 1930's and has expected handling wear, as well as what appears to be slight water damage along the bottom edge. Both top corners of the photo appear to have crease lines. Stan Laurel (1890-1965) and Oliver Hardy (1892-1957) had appeared, separately, in hundreds of silent films before being teamed together by Hal Roach in 1927. The pair quickly became the top comedy team of the era, producing both numerous silent and sound shorts through 1935 including The Music Box, which received the Academy Award for Best Comedy Short in 1933. Beginning in the mid 1930's, the pair would move on to features, with Sons of the Desert considered to be their finest full-length film. This phenomenal signed photo, dating from near the start of their popularity, is rare. Accompanied by full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
