Mickey Mantle game used memorabilia in any form is a treasure. Some items don't completely stand the test of time, but even their remnants hold significant value. Offered here is a rare broken barrel off of a game used Mickey Mantle bat. With the condition it is in, who knows what kind of action this piece of lumber saw on the field? There are 22-inches remaining of this 1950s-era (unable to determine the exact year with the handle completely missing) Hillerich & Bradsby signature Mickey Mantle bat barrel, absolutely hammered with evidence of use, even aside from the obvious missing pieces! There is a 9" crack from the beginning of the broken handle running all the way up the barrel, along with numerous abrasions and scuffmarks throughout. It is quite possible that this bat simply exploded upon contact with a particularly fierce pitch, leaving it forever separated from its handle. This is a fantastic relic from The Mick's early playing days - we've simply never seen anything like it! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from MEARS.
