Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving from 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Offered here is a military appointment dated 1861 for Robert McBratney as registrar of the land office at Junction City, Kansas. It is signed nicely at the bottom by President Lincoln and countersigned by Secretary of Interior Caleb B. Smith. The document is in overall fine condition with a horizontal and vertical fold and some additional scattered creasing, which has all been minimized by framing. The document has been beautifully framed and matted along with a photo of Lincoln to a total size of approximately 24" x 36". A fantastic display piece commemorating one of the greatest Presidents in U.S. history. This item has been reviewed by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and is guaranteed to pass their authentication. Full certification for this item can be acquired for an additional fee.
