First President, Commander-in-Chief Continental Army. SCARCE Continental Army discharge signed "Go. Washington", 8.5” x 13”, June 9, 1783. A choice Revolutionary war discharge countersigned by Jonathan Trumbull & James Bruceford, in part: "...Jacob Ash...2nd New York Artillery Regiment, having faithfully served the United States from 12th March 1780, until the present period...is hereby Discharged from the American Army...", Document exhibits some moderate see-through from writing on verso along with some splitting to the edges and fold lines typical to documents of the age. Housed in a beautiful 42” x 32” museum-quality framed display, along with a commemorative plate, portrait and a vintage copy of the Declaration of Independence. Impressive! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
