During a career that spanned over 60 years, portrait photographer Yousuf Karsh captured the greatest figures of his generation. This dramatic original portrait print illuminates Yousuf Karsh's artistic ability. John, positioned in the spotlight of the foreground, appears wistful and hale. The real focus is on Jackie though, partially obscured by John's shadow. Her determined countenance bespeaks the gritty poise for which she is so world-renowned. Monumental for its type, this magnetic portrait measures 13" x 17.5". It is captioned in the bottom white margin, "THE PRESIDENT AND MRS. JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY," below which dances Kennedy's incredible black-ink "9" inscription and signature: "For Joe Smith - with esteem and warm regards - John F. Kennedy" is written at the bottom of the piece in what looks to be fountain pen and/or ball point ink - the ink seems to change in the middle of the word "esteem."
