Collectors of single signed baseballs know that Roberto Clemente single signed spheres are few and far between. Amongst the small pool of Clemente singles, only a fraction are on Official National League balls, let alone completely uninscribed and - the most rare of all - on the sweet spot. That being taken into consideration, we are proud to offer this Official National League (Giles) single signed baseball, signed "Roberto Clemente" on the sweet spot, with no other inscription or personalization. The blue ballpoint autograph originates from the early years of Clemente's career - perhaps even from his rookie season - as the ball dates to 1952-57 based on the stamping. One of the few rookie-era signed balls known to exist! His signature would change significantly over the course of his career, going from the very calculated letter formation you see offered here to a more carefree, comfortable, looping variation as time went on. The ball remains in fine condition with some rubbing to the stamping and handling wear. The autograph displays beautifully with Clemente's flourishing signature remaining bold. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA, with the autograph grading a 6 and the baseball grading a solid 5. An undoubtedly spectacular relic to add to any high end baseball collection.
