Sam Houston is sought after by historical and political collectors across the board. The politician and war hero was much beloved for his role in the founding of Texas and for his victory over Mexico as commander of the Texas Army. Though far outnumbered, Houston ordered the attack on San Jacinto that secured Texas its independence. Offered here is the first of its kind we have ever had the opportunity to feature, a complete 12" x 15" State of Texas land grant dated August 13, 1860 signed at the conclusion by Sam Houston as governor. The document exhibits scattered soiling, handling wear, and vertical & horizontal folds, but the desirability of a document of this type signed by Houston outweighs any potential flaw in the condition. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
