One of Only A Couple Double Signed Lennon Checks Known To Exist--Executed Days Prior to His First Solo Single Release and the First Public Signs of a Beatles Demise!

Rare personal bank check, 8" x 4", filled out in Lennon's hand and made payable to "Cash" in the amount of £200, February 3, 1970. In addition to signing on the front of check, Lennon also places an endorsement signature on the reverse, with both signatures being executed in a solid red ballpoint pen. In fine condition, with expected stampings on both sides lightly intersecting both signatures but not detracting from their clean, bold appearance.

Lennon had privately informed the Beatles he was leaving just a few months prior to the execution of this check and had just completed his first single, "Instant Karma", days before. "Instant Karma" would actually be released a couple days later, marking the beginning of Lennon's solo career and the first public sign of a Beatles demise., which would be released in late 1970.

Lennon checks are quite uncommon, particularly checks such as this that bear two signatures, and to date this check stands as one of just a couple double signed examples to ever surface in the market. Beatles and check collectors take notce! This coveted document is authenticated and encapsulated by the experts at PSA/DNA.
