For Sir Paul McCartney, his creative side would shine even at a young age. While sitting in his fifth grade class at the Liverpool Institute, McCartney would sneak into the teacher's lesson plan and doodle this sketch of his teacher, Alan ‘Larry’ Latham. Obtained directly from Latham, he mentions that McCartney was always trying to get the attention of the class, so behavior such as this was common for the young chip Liverpool lad. This 3.5" x 4" signed & hand drawn sketch serves as possibly the earliest McCartney artwork ever offered to the public. His artistic skills seemed evident even at a at a young age, as the sketch is extremely detailed, easily the most detailed sketch we have handle from McCartney. Signed by McCartney with an extremely rare signature variation "Paul James McCartney," in bold black fountain pen. For the McCartney fan, it really doesn't get better than this! Overall in fine condition with McCartney handwriting on the reverse & minor sun damage. We guarantee this lot to pass PSA/DNA or JSA authentication, and full certification can be arranged for an additional fee (please contact us at Contactus@iconicauctions.com for further details).
