As President, Jefferson would negotiate the purchase of the Louisiana Territory, support the Lewis & Clark expansion/expedition among issuing this Military appointment during his time in Washington. Offered here is a tremendous full & desirable free frank boldly signed & handwritten entirely by Thomas Jefferson. Overall in fine condition with horizontal/vertical folds & minor discoloration as well as two areas of paper loss along the top and bottom. It's worth noting that free franks from Jefferson's era are typically not offered complete, let alone in the condition of this offering.
