This JACK NICKLAUS 1978 MACGREGOR 9 IRON W/985 HEAD GOLF CLUB USED BY NICKLAUS W/ COA has been certified authentic. It will include a Letter of Authenticity from Ken Flanigan, Flanigan BiLT Putters. The letter states that the set of 1978 Jack Nicklaus MacGregor (985 style head) clubs were in his possession for approximately 10 years. The irons were made specifically for Nicklaus by Jack Wulkotte, Nicklaus' longtime club fitter. The research done by Flanigan BiLT Putters indicates that Nicklaus did not like the style of head so he gave them to a friend who eventually put Ture Temper R-300 shafts in them because Nicklaus' specs were too stiff. The clubs were returned to Jack Wulkotte (Nicklaus' club fitter since 1963-1990's) and he sold them to me Ken Flanigan replacing the shafts back to the originals that were used by Nicklaus. All of the lofts, lies, shafts and paper under the listing grips are original specs that were made for Nicklaus.
