The 1961 season would go down as one of the most exciting in Major League Baseball history, with Mickey Mantle & Roger Maris battling all season in the “Chase for 61” to dethrone Yankee legend & American icon Babe Ruth with the most single season home runs of all time. Offered here is not just another Mantle/Maris dual signed baseball, which remain extremely scarce in their own right, but a vintage example dated back to that 1960's era where the M&M Boys would dominate opposing pitchers. With a vintage transitional signature between his “boyish” pre-1958 signature and common post-1960s signature, Mantle graced the sweet spot of this Official American League Cronin baseball in blue ballpoint, with Maris going onto sign two different side panels. The ball remains in fine condition, with minor scuffing & even toning. Full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
