Autographed hand drawn sketch from the legendary American artist, one page, 7" x 11.5", personal letterhead, undated. Signed and sketched by Norman Rockwell in bold blue ballpoint.
The imagery of a tin can tied to a dogs tail in the 1920s is very interesting. About that same time, Norman Rockwell began to use his caricature of a scruffy mutt with a can tied to its tail as a stand-in for himself. For his caricature, Rockwell used a version of the dog Patsy he’d created for use on a variety of Country Gentleman magazine cover illustrations
It's worth nothing that sketches in ANY format are extremely scarce by Rockwell with this being the first we have handled! A great opportunity to acquire a piece of original art from an American icon whose paintings have sold for tens of millions of dollars! Overall in fine condition with handling wear to the 15" x 19" frame. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
